Notes from Monthly and Annual Meetings for Business – 2/4/04

The Monthly and Annual Meetings for Business were held on February 4, after being postponed from January 28^th due to a snowstorm. Fifteeen people were present.

Meeting approved a donation of $67 to be sent to the NEYM Treasurer, to cover Allen’s Neck Meeting’s share of the contribution to the Massachusetts Council of Churches (one dollar for each resident member of the Meeting).

The Christian Education Committee announced plans for a "Memories Sunday" on February 8 during Meeting for Worship. The First Day School calendar and teaching schedule for the remainder of the school year is included in this newsletter (see facing page).

Peace and Social Concerns Committee reported on plans for projects to help people in the greater New Bedford area.

The new 2004 Directory of Allen’s Neck Friends Meeting should be available by next month; anyone with corrections or additions for the new directory should contact Sharon.

Twenty reports were presented at the Annual Meeting for Business. Copies of most of the reports are available at the Meetinghouse for anyone who wants them. The Nominating Committee’s Report for 2004, listing the officers and committees for the new year, is on the back of the calendar insert included in this newsletter.
