Notes from Monthly Meeting for Business 6/22/05 Sandwich Quarterly Meeting will be held at Allens Neck on Saturday, July 23rd. Invitations with directions for getting here will be mailed out. Help with food and drink will be needed. Stewart from Westport Meeting will be the speaker. Our Meeting for worship will be held at Apponegansett Meetinghouse on July 10th at 10:00 AM. Children will attend for at least part of the hour. Ann suggested that the Memorial Fund for Barbara be used to purchase new drapes for the sanctuary. A Memorial Minute for Barbara will be written by Sharon. The Friendship Committee, as well as other members of the Meeting, has been active visiting and sending cards to our members who have been hospitalized; this includes our older members who are home bound and are still interested in what is going on at Allens Neck. Meeting approved of donating $1000.00 to Annies Fairloom Project to assist in purchasing looms for the women in the community to weave various items which will then be sold in the United States. See them at www.fairloom.org. Ways and Means reported that the Flea Market earned $1,388.00. Our Friend from Durham Meeting, Teresa, may be leading the service on a Sunday in July. |
